This year a group of 14 other MBA candidates and I travelled to Peru for 10 days. We had a great time. The main purpose of the trip was to do a business analyses of a micro finance firm in a poorer part of the country. We also did some community service in a new town-ship being developed in he middle of a desert, planing well over 100 much needed trees.
We travelled all over the country including Lima, Trujillo, and Cusco: all very different parts of the country. Lima is a very metropolitan city, where Trujillo is an impoverished city in the middle of the desert, and Cusco was very eclectic tourist destination with backpackers and local peddlers everywhere. We ended the trip with a visit to the legendary Inca ruins of Machu Picchu.
So I use several KDE apps on the regular; mostly K3b, Amarok, and Digikam. The only other apps I really need are firefox, thunderbird, Eclipse, and a good terminal… So I figured I would try the KDE switch one more time….
I am really trying however KDE makes me want to pull my hair out, and why is KDE so slow? I guess 1 gig of ram is enough for this plasma thing….
Anyway I am going to try and stick with it however, I am not sure what will happens…..
The mysql database behind Huffisland is horked….. So I really can’t add much new stuff for now…. I’ll fix the DB when I get some extra time, but with work and GRAD school there doesn’t seem to be much of that these days….. and now that I am on this facebook thing it really don’t seem like a priority….
What a busy month I haven’t had time to update the site all month…..

Last weekend I headed to the Dunn-Benson Dragstrip to help Sandy in the TopDawg race. Even thought Sandy didn’t take home a big check it was still a lot of fun. Brian, Amanda, and Debbie were on hand to help cheer on as well. An added bonus was that Dean was up from Wilmington and raced his cherry 67 camaro. He did very well, but borke out in the championship run.
Last weekend was the official start of summer and I made a weekend out of it. Friday night was the summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. To celebrate we headed to the lake after work to take full advantage of the extra sunlight. We had an outstanding time and water skied until dusk, around 9:30. After the lake Scott and I meet Fred and OD for drinks at the blue marlin. We then caped off the evening with light night at Caroline’s.
Since every one was out of the office this week and Amanda some how managed to score an ocean front beach house, I headed down to the beach this week and Worked form the beach. It worked out great, I was able to seal an internet connection and keep up with work wile enjoying the beach. Dont Hate!!
This Saturday we headed to the lake, we had the whole Hibbets clan onboard including Z. Shea also joined the crew for a nice afternoon on the water. Jason shot some good video of me waking boarding.
WOW what a weekend Im still tuckered out and I slept till 10 today. The craziness started out with the 2008 Morisville parks and recreation adult kickball tournament. Unfortunately this was our last kickball game of the season because we were eliminated in the first game. Oh well, we were not that upset because we had two kegs iced down for a victory party at my house!! KEG PARTY….
